Letters No.2

June 23, 2026

Sweetest one,

I recently came across a lovely idea that reminded me of you. It speaks of a world in which the universe and god are one, that life is itself the way in which the cosmos get to experience itself. You can imagine the universe as the infinite substance in which the divine is expressed. To love such god, therefore, is to delight in knowing and feeling the universe as a whole.

Often I find it rather difficult to love, or to feel loved. Even more so by some spiritual caretaker to which I cannot see, hear, or feel. Such is why the idea of a more impersonal deity often lands a little closer to home for me. You, on the other hand, are one I find quite easy to love. As such, it fascinates me to see you as the universe, the very expression of god himself. To be loved by you is to be loved by the planets, to be noticed by stars, and to be held by angels. I cannot help but smile uncontrollably as I think of such.

And so, even if the universe screams indifference, I shall get to feel at home in you.

E.J.
